When I first read the headline of your post, the first thing that popped into my mind (aside from "cool start!") was the move "Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia." Not exactly a horror movie, I know, but macabre nonetheless when you have to bring back the head of some.
Ghoulish Cop, That's funny because I first titled this post "Bring me the head of Patrick O'Treaty" but thought too obscure a reference...great minds.
Pam, thanks!
Mr. Macabre, He's a Blucky skull. Carved out the sockets and nostrils. The eyes are cheapo bubble foam balls (not my first choice, but what I had). The rest is just acrylic paint. Still need some touch up and detailing. Heavy coats of sealer to follow, which usually hides many brush marks and blemishes.
CB I've been using a lot of Krylon crystal clear spray lately, but any type works (brush or spray). For me, this is less about making outdoor proof than it is keeping the paint from cracking or peeling.

Dave,
ReplyDeleteGreat work, what kind of sealer do you use?
Thanks
