STAR TREK: Destroying the Timeline

Is it just me or does the the new Star Trek movie poster look like the first movie poster is being burned away in a white hot flash, as if being erased from memory? Coincidence or brilliantly intentional?

  1. I say the movie yesterday. It was good, but it was kind of hard to enjoy. All through the movie, I kept saying, "But . . .," "What about . . .," "If . . .," "Then . . ."

    ***SPOILER ALERT***

Everything we all knew and loved about Star Trek has been wiped out of existence in the blink of an eye! Well, except for the Enterprise series and Ambassador Spock. I wonder how many people will accept the movie as canon. I feel like Abrams reached into my chest and squeezed my heart. I also wonder how Majel Barrett is taking this. So sad.

  3. Ah, but has it been wiped out? I mean if Spock Prime lived his life only to come back when everything has changed, hasn't it all happened?

I think the poster might be a nod to the original.
